Eight Keys to Handling Tough Situations

If you’re not in a tough situation now, you’ve likely just come through one or will face one in the future. How can I be so sure? It’s because as we follow God, the devil consistently tries to derail and distract us with problems and predicaments. However, when we keep our eyes on God and our mouths speaking His Word, we not only escape the difficulty ourselves but also assist others in finding their way out.
It’s Not Always Your Fault
The Bible offers numerous examples of Faith Leaders, both men and women of God, who find themselves in challenging situations due to the sins of others or their refusal to follow God’s word and direction. From Daniel, who was set up by jealous politicians in Babylon and ended up in a lion’s den, to the Apostle Paul, in Acts 27, whose captors ignored his warning not to launch the ship for Rome because he sensed their voyage would be dangerous, Faith Leaders often face discouraging and even life-threatening situations. Although the storm that Paul’s vessel encountered lasted over two weeks, casting the entire crew into complete darkness, sickness, and fear, Paul applied eight key principles that not only allowed him to survive but also saved the lives of the other 275 people on board.
Eight Key Principles
For brevity and ease of recall, I will simply list the eight keys that every Faith Leader in the Bible used to handle difficult situations.
Understand that God has equipped you with everything you need to succeed.
Your words matter. Speak words of favor from God’s Word, not words of fear.
Prayer and praise are essential.
Don’t be surprised when you face attacks. Jesus told us that affliction and persecution would come after the Word which is sown in your heart. (Mark 4:17)
Do not be selfish. Bring others with you from the challenge to victory.
Heartfelt words of faith provide God with something to work with, so agree with what God says.
Refuse to be bought off. Satan will tempt you with money, status, and more to divert you from what God has called you to do.
Refuse to fear. Say aloud, “I will not fear.” Fear can cause people to freeze like a deer in the headlights.
Build Your Faith Arsenal Now
Build your arsenal of faith weapons before the battle begins. The best time to learn healing Scriptures is when you’re well. The best time to learn about God’s provision is before the cupboard is empty. However, some events are unpredictable. That’s why you need to build yourself up in your Most Holy Faith, praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20), and develop an absolute trust in God. Then, regardless of what happens, you will lead others boldly, declaring, The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? (Psalm 118:6)
